With no less than 10-15 million native speakers in Southeastern Europe and 55-60 million in Western Asia, Turkish is the largest of the Turkic languages. It is spoken primarily in Turkey. However, it is also spoken in some communities in Germany, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Northern Cyprus, Greece, the Caucasus, and other parts of Europe and Central Asia.
